Material preparation is the first production checkpoint after the backpack sample and specification are approved. Fabric, lining, foam, webbing, zippers, buckles and other components need to match the confirmed project before cutting and sewing begin.
At Navorex Bags, incoming materials are reviewed against the approved sample and order specification before they are released to production. This stage helps identify incorrect colors, component mismatches or specification differences before they affect a larger quantity of finished backpacks.
Check Materials Against the Approved Specification
Bulk material should follow the construction and appearance confirmed during sampling.
The production specification may include the main fabric, lining, foam, mesh, webbing and selected accessories. Material type, visible color and required component combinations are reviewed before production preparation begins.
Backpack projects may use polyester, nylon, Oxford fabric, canvas, RPET, PU and other supporting materials already confirmed during development. Buyers still selecting the main fabric can review our Materials & Fabric Options before sample approval.
When several colors or materials are used in one style, they should be checked as a complete set rather than individually.
Fabric Color and Surface Review
The same color can appear different on different fabric constructions, so incoming fabric is compared with the approved material reference where applicable.
Inspection focuses on visible consistency, fabric type, surface appearance and whether the material matches the approved backpack specification.
Special attention is useful when an order includes several colorways or combines outer fabric with contrasting lining, mesh or webbing. Differences identified at this stage are easier to resolve before the fabric has been cut into backpack panels.
Zippers, Buckles, Webbing and Supporting Components
Backpack components should also match the selected construction.
Zipper tape, pullers, buckles, adjusters and webbing can affect both function and appearance. Width, color and component type should correspond with the approved backpack sample.
Projects using specific hardware or trim combinations can be reviewed through our Zippers, Buckles & Accessories options during OEM development.
Foam, lining and mesh are also prepared according to their intended positions, such as shoulder straps, back panels, laptop compartments or internal sections.
Material Preparation Before Cutting
Once the materials are confirmed, they are organized according to the production order and backpack construction.
The required outer fabric, lining and supporting materials are prepared for the next manufacturing stage. Clear separation by style, color and specification helps reduce mix-ups when several backpack versions are being produced.
The materials then move to Fabric Cutting & Panel Preparation, where the main body, pockets, lining sections, shoulder-strap parts and other panels are prepared according to the approved construction.
How Material Choices Affect MOQ and Production Timing
Material availability can influence both MOQ and lead time.
Standard backpack constructions usually start around 300–500 pcs, while special colors, less common fabrics or project-specific components may require higher quantities depending on supplier availability.
After sample and specification approval, normal bulk production is around 25–40 days, depending on order quantity, material readiness and construction complexity.
For an accurate production review, buyers should provide the backpack style, material requirements, color, estimated quantity and any critical zipper, buckle, webbing or lining specifications before bulk materials are arranged.
